Can't believe Christmas is so close!  In honor of this upcoming holiday, The Best "Kindergaren Kristmas" Program ever is scheduled for December 17th at 1:30.  I apologize for the 1:30 during the day time but it's the best time for us here at school when it comes to students attending.  We hope you can join us!

November 11th-15th

Kindergarten is so exciting right now!  Our hard work is paying off and we've been seeing so much progress!  We wrote a classroom story based on a book we read last week and it's getting published by a company into an actual hardback book.  The kids did such a great job!  I'm so excited to get back and show it to the class.  The best part other than how well the class did was the cost, it was FREE to make.

Another "shout out" I need to make is to our WONDERFUL volunteers at our Halloween party.  To be quite honest, I was afraid when I looked at our party volunteer list, there was no one on it!  But I had some great parents step up and really made it a great afternoon for our class.  Special thanks go out to:  Mrs. Blackwood, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Ward, Melissa Benton and Audra Smith!! Our party never would have happened without you!

October 7th-11th

October is such a fun time in Kindergarten!  We're having such a good year..I'm constantly smiling  :).

Quick Reminders:

1.  Any donations of Clorox wipes would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you, Audra, for you donations!!
2.  Your child needs a individual snack everyday.  Please remind your child if you packed a snack, that's their snack.  Some kids are not eating their own packed snack and wanting one of ours...which is fine but not everyday.  Thank you!
3.  Tennis shoes and socks....with this great weather, we're still going outside.  Not sure how long it's going to last, hopefully, forever!
4.  Light jackets...again with this crazy weather, we go outside early some days and it's still chilly.  A light jacket would be perfect.
5.  Lunch....lunch is a crazy time for Mrs. Payez.  Not only is she supervising our class, she's supervising 3 first grades with 25 students a piece.  She cannot get to the microwave to heat up or cook food.  Please be mindful of what you're sending...we don't have access to can openers either, so no canned food at lunch time.  Thank you for your understanding.

Quality, not Quantity!

We're sloooowing things down a bit in Kindergarten this week.  Watching the kiddos speed through their center work was nerve racking!  So I decided to slow our centers down, just a bit.  The students are going to progress through 2 "Reading" centers a day instead of 4.  Hopefully I'm going to see improved cutting, gluing and coloring :).

Snack Confusion

We're having a major lunch/snack confusion.  Please put your child's snack in a DIFFERENT place than their lunch box.  We're asking the students in the morning if they have a lunch box for cold lunch and they're saying yes, but it's their snack, not their lunch.  If you could, review in the morning with your child exactly what they're doing for lunch, cold lunch is a lunch from home, hot lunch is a lunch from school.  If they have a cold lunch and a snack, please put the snack in the front pocket of the bookbag or someplace seperate so we know what's what.  Thank you!  We really appreciate it!

PS:  Happy Birthday Chole R.!

Week of August 26th-30th

Happy Monday!  Kindergarten is starting off without a hitch.  Here are a few reminders as we start a new week:

1.  Your child needs a daily snack.
2.  Don't forget to return the towel we sent home on Friday to be washed.
3.  This Friday starts our West Virginia spirit Fridays!  Try to dress your child in gold, blue or both.  No biggie if you don't, it's just a super fun day to celebrate our state.
4.  The weekly homework sheet went home today.  Please make sure to look at it every night.  If you see a book that needs to be read listed and you don't see it in the folder yet, it should be coming home the day it's listed for homework.  If you see something listed on the homework sheet and it's not in the folder that day, it's more than likely my fault, it's probably something we just didn't get to finish.  Just look for it the next day, hopefully it'll be in your child's folder at some point.
5.  We would love any donations of Clorox wipes, tissues and boxes of individual snacks.
